Free and Reduced Price Meals are available to families who qualify. If your family chooses to apply, please complete a "Free and Reduced Meal Price Application Form." For fastest processing please complete an online application.  If you are unable to complete an online application, a paper application can be obtained and returned (completed) to any school office.  A notification letter will be sent home with the youngest child listed on the application enrolled in Katy ISD informing you of the child’s status.  If any student(s) are missing from the notification letter, please contact our office to ensure all your household students are receiving appropriate benefits.  Until notification, you must provide your child with a lunch or lunch money.

Parent Information for Pre-K Students:

If your Pre-K student was approved to attend school under the federal funded program, no application is required for them to receive free meals. If there are other children in your household that attends Katy ISD, then a 2019-2020 meal application needs to be submitted for those students.  




The 2018-2019 application will only be good for 

the first 30 operating days once the campus has completed enrollment.

Katy ISD now offers School Cafe Instant Online Application Processing for parents to easily and conveniently apply for meal benefits for your child(ren).  Simply enter the requested information as accurately as possible, and all data will be instantly and securely sent to your child(ren)s school district for processing.  Start your family's meal benefits sooner by entering your information now!

School Cafe

Only complete one application per family. The information you give will be used to determine or prove your child's eligibility for free or reduced-priced meals. This information may also be used for other state or federally funded school benefits.

Factors considered in the application process are household size and total household income. HOUSEHOLD SIZE is considered all persons, related or unrelated: Including parents, children, grandparents who live in your home and share living expenses. The TOTAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME is the income each household member received last month before taxes - this includes wages, social security, pension, unemployment, welfare, child support, alimony, and any other cash income.

Foster Children - In certain cases, foster children are eligible for free and reduced-price meals regardless of your income. If you have foster children living with you and want to apply for them, please contact us.
